The truck spent its entire life in Coleman, Texas, and fought its last fire around 1998. I would give a thumb up for those two sides. Their desserts are Chocolate Meringue Pie, Lemon Meringue Pie, Coconut Meringue Pie, Pineapple Upside Down Cake, Cobbler and Banana Pudding. I can unsubscribe any time by contacting Groupon. . The skin is perfectly seasoned and crispy I could eat an entire plate of just the skin alone - omg delicious! Some have claimed it's not healthy. She didn't seem happy to serve us, no smile. The overall experience was good. Living in Austin and traveling through Fort Worth back to Oklahoma several times a year, I had never heard of this place. We would definitely come back.

So the chicken here is awesome. Bring your stretchy pants it is a lot of food. I finished everything and had an extra biscuit. Management will take care of you if there are any concerns. The corn that comes with the sides was delicious as well as the mashed potatoes. Located in beautiful historic downtown Granbury, Babe's is a comforting treat best enjoyed with friends and family! The fam's gathered around the table and out come the hot biscuits and salad.
We will continue to frequent Babe's on our Texas adventures, but will pick a brighter, cleaner location. Need to get out of the house? So far of all of the items on the menu I have had the chicken and the tenders and both were amazing. The sides are all you can eat, but you cannot take them home. The food was fresh and tasted great. The waitstaff is always friendly and attentive between line dances and the food generally comes out quickly even if they're busy. Waited 12 minutes before a server even noticed us, and took our drink order.
The biscuits are great too, but the green beans and mashed potatoes are nothing to write home about. My friend who didn't get to place an order because the server ignored him even received a check for an order of fried chicken that he didn't place an order for and just shared with our party. The biscuits are flaky and there's always honey on the table. We both had chicken fried steak. Maybe that's why the customers before us threw their whole bowl onto the floor. The green beans were a little disappointing; it was really salty and had no other flavors. It's great to take with you to a local winery that allows food.
I've never had any chicken that compares They do bring sides as well - salad, Mashers, corn, green beans - but honestly, those are all mediocre-bordering-on-gross. I look in the other direction, and a large group of people who were seated 5 minutes after us were getting service! In 1913, the first Ford dealership in Dallas County was established across the street in the large Jackson-Miller building, on the south east corner of Broadway and Main Street. Our favorite is the gravy and mashed potatoes but the corn and green be ans are excellent too. I claim it's healthier than lettuce with a dollop of ranch dressing that a lot of people eat. Since we were pressed for time, we got up and started to walk out. I didn't find the place noisy today, but there were only five full tables besides mine while I was there, so the noise level was normal.
All I can say is if you love fried chicken, I can almost guarantee you will love Babe's. I would never be able to convince. Perhaps a little too seasoned but still worth gettin. Need catering from this location? My wife had the smoked chicken and it was very good as well. Be aware that you will have to raise your decibel level significantly to talk. Only reason it is not getting 5 Stars is the service or lack of and the parking and waiting issues.
